Dr. K. Ramasamy is an eminent agricultural scientist, biotechnologist, and academic administrator who has made monumental contributions to Indian agriculture. Raised with a deep reverence for farming and soil ecology, he pursued advanced studies in agricultural microbiology and completed post-doctoral research at prestigious international research centers, including Michigan State University (USA) and KU Leuven (Belgium).

Throughout his academic career at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore, Dr. Ramasamy focused his research on microbial biotechnology, bio-energy, and sustainable soil health. He developed indigenous bio-fertilizer strains, anaerobic digestion technologies for agricultural waste management, and bio-remediation protocols that boosted crop yields while preserving the ecological balance of agricultural lands across Tamil Nadu.

As Vice-Chancellor of TNAU Coimbatore, Dr. Ramasamy led a major modernization of the university's academic and research infrastructure. He spearheaded climate-resilient crop technology initiatives, established international research partnerships, and mentored over 150 master's and doctoral scholars. Under his leadership, TNAU gained national prominence as one of India's premier agricultural institutions, driving agricultural innovation across Western Tamil Nadu.

His research achievements are documented in over 150 international scientific publications. In recognition of his lifetime dedication to agricultural science and education, he was honored with the Tamil Nadu Scientist Award (TANSA), the ICAR Best Teacher Award, and numerous national fellowships, standing as a pillar of Kovai's scientific heritage.
